I’m calling this one the “Hello, August” pile.

Bought:

1. Kiera Cass – The Elite
2. Kody Keplinger – A Midsummer’s Nightmare
3. Justina Chen – North of Beautiful
4. Terra Elan McVoy – Being Friends with Boys

I think this is a pretty great YA pile, don’t ya think?

I’m already reading The Elite and loving it! So many happenings going on here! And I am just so freaking psyched to MEET KIERA CASS on Saturday. I am already preparing my squeals! (Btw, who’s going?)

As for the other books, I have a love for Keplinger (because of The DUFF) and I’ve been wanting to read North of Beautiful and Being Friends With Boys since I see it all the time at our local bookstore. Have you read them? Share your thoughts and comment below! (I have no clue if these books are good or not, although I really hope they are)

Also, I’ve decided the to include e-galleys I’ve recently received! Check ’em out:

4

1. Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner – These Broken Stars
2. Ingrid Seymour – The Guys Are Props Club
3. Ciye Cho – Rory
4. Shana Norris – Surfacing

Thank you so much, Netgalley, Disney Book Group, Victory Editing,  Ciye Cho, Ingrid Seymour and Dianne from Oops! I Read A Book Again!

I am so excited to read and review them! Oh, btw. Let’s be friends on twitter!

  1. Lovely haul, Hazel! Kody Keplinger’s books have been in my to-read list for SO LONG. And huhu I haven’t read The Elite yet! >_< See you on Saturday! <3

  2. Hazel, I’m in love with your photography! I really want to read A Midsummer’s Nightmare since I’m a fan of Kody’s work, too! I’m so jealous that you got These Broken Stars! I’m dying to read that one. Awesome book haul, and happy reading!

  3. First of all, I absolutely adore your photo! The colours really pop and we know I’m nothing if not shallow when it comes to book covers and spines ;)

I can’t wait to hear what you thought about North of Beautiful! I purchased it ages ago on Kindle but have yet to have the opportunity to read it :( Hopefully you can give me a better idea of what I’m in for! Hehe.

  4. I really want to read A Midsummer’s Nightmare, too! I’ve read North of Beautiful and I thought it was really beautiful. :) I’ve never been to a book signing before, but I hope you have tons of fun!

  5. I haven’t read The Selection or The Elite! It seems people either love or hate them. Based on my love of reality tv shows, I have a feeling I’ll love them, but haven’t gotten around to picking them up yet. Glad to hear you’re enjoying The Elite already!

I haven’t read of any of the others. Ooh but the e-galleys, that Rory one sounds interesting. I have a friend who is reviewing it as well so I’m curious about what the ratings will be. And c’mon, These Broken Stars is so gorgeous. I hope the inside matches the out!

    1. I hope you pick up the series sometime! :D Rory did sound interesting and I hope I enjoy reading it! Have you seen its book trailer? Really cool! TBS is gorgeous! I actually did a happy dance when I got approved for it! I can’t wait to look into it myself!

  6. AAAH YOU HAVE NORTH OF BEAUTIFUL! This is one of my all-time favorite books. Justina Chen is also an amazing writer, and I really liked her book RETURN TO ME as well!
I have These Broke Stars sitting on my bookshelf right now, waiting to be read, so I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Love your blog design by the way. I would like to marry it. Maybe even steal it.

xx Willa (Lit Up Review and Willa’s Ramblings)

  7. Ooo, Being Friends With Boys is really good. I read that a few months ago! :) I have yet to read The Selection because I’ve been hearing so many mixed reviews so I’m a little nervous, haha. But I hope you enjoy The Elite and all of the books you got this week! Happy reading :)

  8. Ermahgerd These Broken Stars! The cover looks super awesome and I can’t wait to read it because I’m a sucker for sci-fi! I hope you end up loving The Elite because I loved The Selection :) It was such a fun read. I’m just waiting for the paperback to come out. Have fun at the signing!
