Book In My Bag: Singapore Trip Edition

bag betsey johnson

Around three in the morning last Friday, I was en route to Singapore in belated celebration of my birthday. With only my mother as my companion, the weekend was a blur of bookstore hopping, sightseeing and shopping. Of course, being myself, I couldn’t help but squeeze in some reading. So today, I’ll be be sharing what book I brought along with me to Singapore as well as what’s inside my adorable Betsey Johnson bag.

Book In My Bag

I have The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler in my bag, which has been on my wish list for a long while. I finally bought it during MIBF earlier this month (this is the part I realize I still haven’t shared my haul- soon promise!) and I’ve been reading it during my trip, mostly during train rides. I adore Ockler’s books and the fact that she wrote a Little Mermaid retelling is such a dream come true. I’m liking what I’ve read so far and I hope to finish it on the plane ride back to Manila tomorrow.

What Else Is In My Bag?

  • iPad – Kate Spade NY case
  • Wallet – necessary for shopping obv
  • Passport – Kate Spade NY case
  • iPhone – case from Bershka
  • Travel notebook – where I write down itineraries and places I want to see
  • Power bank – since I’m outside most of the day and I use my phone a lot to take pictures, I make sure to have back up in case my battery dies
  • DSLR (not in the photo)

I’ve always loved What’s In My Bag posts and I’ve done a few before, a Book Bags feature on Rachel of Hello Chelly’s blog as well as some on Instagram. I don’t know why I’ve never shared one on the blog before but now that I have I’m thinking I might make it a reoccurring thing. What do you think?

What book is in your bag? Any other cute things you keep there? And how was your weekend?

  1. Oh, I LOVE this feature – you should definitely make it a regular! I might try something similar myself, actually… Anyway, I adore it when bloggers share their real lives – especially when their lives involve bags that are as cute as yours! (I SOOOOOO need to buy a new bag… can I use your post as an excuse to? Please?)

  2. Cute post! Your bag and entire contents is utterly adorable and snap-worthy. I don’t normally carry a book with me because there’s never reading time when I go out. But now that I have a big enough bag, I can take a book with me on those rare occasions where I might be able to sneak a few pages :D

  3. Woah, how do you own all these cute stuff, Hazel? I am just swooning over all of them! :D And I can’t wait to see your recap of your Singapore trip! (Tell me you’re posting one! Pretty please? I want to see all the gorgeous pictures!:))

  4. It’s always so thrilling to see what’s in people’s bags. Mines is not very exciting, so in a way I’m living vicariously. ;)

I love the cases for everything in your bag. So pretty.

  5. I love everything in your bag, the pastel palette is gorgeous. I have more of an Autumnal theme, and rocking some browns now! I’ll probably do an updated one soon too.

I glad you enjoyed Singapore, it sounds like you had fun ^_^.

  6. I love your bag and all your cases! Everything is so pink and pretty! I usually tend to stick to darker and not-so-cute cases, like a dark blue case for my iPad and a bulky black Otter Box case for my phone. I tend to break things easily soo I need more heavy duty stuff /:

Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun though! Hope you picked up some good books too :)

  7. I currently have The Burning Sky in my bag, since I’m rereading it + The Perilous Sea in preparation for The Immortal Heights! Also, your bag is adorable :)
