SQUEEEEE OMG: The DUFF Movie Full Teaser Trailer

I’ve been such a huge fan of Kody Keplinger’s The DUFF since forever ago and I was so excited when I heard the news that it was going to be turned into a movie. Even more so when I saw the cast line-up starring some fresh talent: Mae Whitman, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, and more. Now, we have a teaser trailer you guys! Everything’s feeling much more real- I love it. Go watch the adorable trailer and drool over abs giggle to your heart’s content!

HELL YESSS, Robbie Amell looks awesome as one of my ultimate book boyfriends, Wesley Rush. I’m looking forward to more of him (and his upper body) for sure. Kidding aside, I think Mae Whitman has Bianca down too! I just hope we get more snark (which is what I loved most about Bianca when I read the book) from her in the next trailers and in the movie, of course.

Truly, the wary book lover in me is just a bit nervous what with all the deviations from the book. That said, I have a feeling this will be the kind of movie adaptation that will make me laugh out loud and go awww! So I’m definitely hoping for the best. I absolutely can’t wait to watch this one in 2015!

Have you read Kody Keplinger’s The DUFF? What are your thoughts on the teaser trailer? Are you excited as I am for The DUFF movie? Share your thoughts!

  1. I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while and the movie seems great! I’ll definitely be reading it before seeing it, but I have noticed a lot of people commenting that it seems a bit different from the book. We’ll see!

  2. I’m soooo excited for this! I admit, I’m not the number #1 chick flick fan, but I loved the book a lot and I think they’ve cast perfectly. ^-^ I was giggling in the trailer at the Wreck it Ralph comment. Bahah! XD

oh gosh, now I want to reread the book…

  3. The Duff was such an awesome read! Yeah I think the girl playing Bianca needs a bit more snark and sass. I’m looking forward to the movie too, especially Robbie Arnell’s abs :P Hopefully they stay true to the book.

  4. I haven’t read The Duff and if I’m honest I wasn’t planning to until I saw the awesome trailer yesterday! Def planning on reading it now. :D

  5. I’ve been wanting to read this for AGES and now that it’s coming out in movie form I am adding it to my book depository cart RIGHT NOW.

    I’m excited. Really excited.

  6. i have heard about this book a long time ago…but till now haven’t read it yet…so will see if i get around to picking this up before the movie hits the theater :)

  7. I LOVED THIS BOOK. The movie looks cute, but I have to be honest – I don’t like WHAT they changed. I know stuff changes from book to movie, but the whole essence of the book is that Bianca doesn’t necessarily care that she’s the DUFF, in fact, she tends to agree with it for most of the book. So much so that she avoids telling anyone when she gets…friendly…with the guy (sorry, forgot his name). The teaser made it look like she cares…very much so cares about what people think of her and wanting to change that. I dunno. It looks good, but it doesn’t sound like they kept the best part of the book.

    1. I can totally see your point. For me though, I think I can enjoy the movie regardless the changes. Maybe even relate to how Bianca in the movie wants to be more than just the DUFF? I guess we’ll have to hope for the best. :)

  8. Wait a minute, The DUFF is going to be turned into a movie? OMG, that’s just so awesome! I’ve been waiting for this moment forever!
But how come I didn’t know this before? Have I really been living under a rock? :)
And I really like this trailer. It sounds so funny and I can’t wait to see this movie. The actors who play Bianca and Wesley look great too!
    Thanks for sharing, Hazel!

  9. I’ve seen quite a few comments from people saying that they think this is very similar to the style of the VA movie and that they’re disappointed by the teaser trailer. While I do agree that it seems similar in style to VA, I think it suit the atmosphere of the book really well. I can’t wait to see future trailers – I really think I’m going to enjoy this adaptation. Thanks for sharing, Hazel!
