Swoon Worthy Saturday #7

swoonworthy saturday

Saturday is a day for swooning. Swoon Worthy Saturday is a weekly meme where in we present a fictional boy who has swept us off our feet, given us butterflies, made our heart do acrobatics and driven us absolutely crazy! (Join the fun here.)

Only a few more hours for the day (I really should have posted this earlier) but anyway, it’s THAT time of the week! This lovely Saturday, I shall introduce to you Park Sheridan from Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor & Park!!!!

The Gist of Park Sheridan:

1. Half-Korean and half-white, has golden-green eyes
2. He’s passionate about comic books and music
3. Eleanor calls him ‘stupid beautiful Asian kid’
4. He’s amazing in taekwando (he literally kicks ass)
5. He’s crazy sweet and also protective and understanding!!!

Park’s Swoon Worthy Moments slash Quotables:

“What do you want to show me?”

“Nothing, really. I just want to be alone with you for a minute.”

He pulled her to the back of the driveway, where they were almost completely hidden by a line of trees and the RV and the garage.

“Seriously?” she said. “That was so lame.”

“I know,” he said, turning to her. “Next time, I’ll just say, ‘Eleanor, follow me down this dark alley, I want to kiss you.'”

She didn’t roll her eyes. She took a breath, then closed her mouth. He was learning how to catch her off guard.

She pushed her hands deeper in her pockets, so he put his hands on her elbows. “Next time,” he said, “I’ll just say, ‘Eleanor, duck behind these bushes with me, I’m going to lose my mind if I don’t kiss you.'”

She didn’t move, so he thought it was probably okay to touch her face. Her skin was as soft as it looked, white and smooth as freckled porcelain.

“I’ll just say, ‘Eleanor, follow me down this rabbit hole…'”

He laid his thumb on her lips to see if she’d pull away. She didn’t. He leaned closer.“What do you want to show me?”

“You can be Han Solo,” he said, kissing her throat. “And I’ll be Boba Fett. I’ll cross the sky for you.”

“I miss you, Eleanor. I want to be with you all the time. You’re the smartest girl I’ve ever met, and the funniest, and everything you do surprises me. And I wish I could say that those are the reasons I like you, because that would make me sound like a really evolved human being …‘But I think it’s got as much to do with your hair being red and your hands being soft … and the fact that you smell like homemade birthday cake.”

Then Park reached up and wrapped one of her red curls around his honey finger.

“Back to missing you,” he said, letting it go.

Goodness, this boy and his words. *hearts everywhere* I couldn’t not include him in SWS!!! To Rainbow Rowell, you are amazing- Park couldn’t have been more swoon-worthy. To everyone who hasn’t read Eleanor & Park yet, YOU HAVE TO READ SOON!!! This book will forever hold a special place in my heart and yes, Park is a huge reason why, but really, it’s just such a beautiful story! AND OF COURSE THERE’S PARK. (I just have to emphasize, sorry)

Who’s had you swooning lately?

  1. Oh, Park :( Your post kind of makes me want to go back and read the book again and again. Especially the scene where Park got into a fight for Eleanor!!

If I had to chose one book boyfriend, it would be Park <3

    1. I always keep the book near me (at my favorites shelf) so I could reread it whenever! It’s just so heartbreakingly lovely. I’m happy that you love Park as well! <3
