A certain love for books

Books are a big part of my life. Ever since I was a kid, I loved reading books. (I’m not exaggerating or being dramatic. I have a letter from my preschool teacher that serves as proof that I’m a true blue bibliophile even when I was young.) As I grew up, I kept the habit of reading, my taste changing from fairytales to wizard worlds.

Yes, I’ve always loved books. But summer of my junior year in high school, I discovered that I did not only have a love for books but it was a certain love, not quite like the usual. It was a burning love, a fiery passion. My mom started calling it an “addiction” when she noticed I spent too much on books but I told her she was wrong. I told her I was a bibliophile. I was simply bookish.

Why am I telling you all this? I don’t really know. I thought it would be a good way to start my first blog post. And also because it kinda explains what the purpose of this blog is. I want to keep this certain love I have for books and I want it to stay this way. I decided (just today) that I wanted a separate blog for my book posts. I’ll be writing about the books I read, the books I want to read, the books I hate, the books I wish never ended. I’ll list down my bookworm fixations and musings. Yep, that’s what Stay Bookish will consist of. I don’t know if anyone is actually reading this right now but if you are, I hope you’ll cultivate your love for books and join me as I start my book blogging journey!

xx, Hazel
